SuperMan Returns Writer Discusses Forthcoming Movie

(PRWEB) June 21, 2006

In an in-depth interview with UK science fiction site http://www.scifind.co.uk writer Dan Harris tells of his work on Bryan Singers forthcoming Superman Returns movie starring James Marsden and Kevin Spacey.

In the interview Dan described Superman’s character as being “two dimensional” due to his super powers and tells how this lead to the decision to sway the movie to study the relationships between him and Lois (Lane’s) family, and place him in a situation where he has to use more than brawn to survive.

Fans need not worry though as there is a balance of action with the emotional side and some “amazing set pieces”.

The movie draws more on the original Christopher Reeve movie than the comic books though, as quite rightly Dan suggests that in the 60 year history of the character is difficult to encompass in one movie.

Further more Dan Harris discusses his impact on the Superman universe and how he was not going to change things for controversy’s sake. More importantly he has laid some hints to his true fandom in the script – even though some of these moments didn’t make it to the final cut of the film.

Lex Luthor is another point discussed, how his character has changed to be more sinister, but the worlds of good and evil are blurred.

Scifind.co.uk has been running since 1999 and has a following of many thousands of Science Fiction fans throughout the world.

Scifind will be posting more interviews with the crew of Superman Returns in time, and already has a selection of trailers and images for this BlockBuster new movie that is released this summer.
